For children living with a new heart, a life-saving heart transplant is only the start of their journey. Our vision is a world where every child that needs a new heart is able to get one that lasts a lifetime.
Our Family Programs have had a Great Year!
2019 has been an amazing year of growth for our family programs! Thanks to the continued support of our donors, we were able to expand our programs into more transplant centers and to more heart families than ever before!
Be sure to check out our Family Programs Page to learn more about the ways we provide support and assistance to help make our heart families transplant journey a little bit easier.
Congratulations to Pamela Berman for winning the 2019 Enduring Heart and Soul Transplant Coordinator Award!
Pam Berman is a Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Her nursing experiences in pediatric home care, neonatal and pediatric intensive care and transplant research paved the way for her transition to her current position in Pediatric Cardiothoracic transplant. Pam has dedicated nearly 18 years of her career to providing transplant care to pre and post-heart transplant patients and their families. Pam holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati. A nurse by profession but a serious dog lover too. She enjoys attending dog sport training classes, competing and volunteering at her local dog club
Thanks to the generous support of our donors and partnerships, 2019 has been our largest year to date. We were able to fund 9 different grants for over $1.3 million! This gets us to just under $4.8 million in total funding since inception!
Tell us Your Story!
We are looking to tell stories about real children and families and their heart transplant journey. We have discovered that most people do not realize that a transplant is not a cure and as you know, kids face many challenges before and after their transplant.
We would love to feature a photo and a few sentences about your child to share your family’s transplant story. These experiences will be shared online as well as at our events to help us bring awareness to our mission and the need for dedicated funding to help all kids living with a new heart.
If you would like to help give hope to families like yours, please send a few pictures of your child or your family as well as a short paragraph in no more than 250 words to firstname.lastname@example.org. Only your story and your child's first name and age will be shared, all stories received by January 31, 2020, will receive a small gift from Enduring Hearts as a token of our appreciation!
