Enduring Hearts is Helping Families

We Need Research:

Although there are several organizations funding research in the cardiac space, pediatric heart transplantation research comprises just .001% of all clinically funded trials. Enduring Hearts is the only non-profit organization dedicated funding research that helps kids with heart transplants live longer, healthier lives.

We believe that no child should have an expiration date on their second chance at life, so we hope to give each of these extraordinary kids the chance at a beautifully ordinary childhood.

The quality of life is impacted negatively by harsh anti-rejection and immunosuppressant drugs
The average heart transplant only lasts 17 years
1 in 4 pediatric heart transplant recipients need another transplant within 5 years
There is an increase of infection and illness as well as other organ complications

We Champion Research:

Enduring Hearts is focused on driving leading-edge research to make sure every kid that needs a new heart is able to get one that lasts a lifetime.  Our team of doctors, scientists, and researchers peer-review numerous grants annually to identify the very best in class research that will lead to life-changing and life-saving discoveries for children living with a new heart.

We Champion Research:

Our Scientific Advisory Committee has identified over $3M in research that we need to fund that will answer questions that can translate to saved lives. Through donation dollars at work, Enduring Hearts has continued to increase and drive research dollars into this incredibly under-funded area of need. We have created funding partnerships with the American Heart Association and the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation to increase the total investment into transplant longevity research.

Targeted Areas:

  • Transplant Longevity
  • Improvements in the Quality of Life for Children who have Received a New Heart
  • Technology Application
  • Transplant Immunology
  • Organ Matching
  • Nutrition and Exercise Physiology
  • Medication Compliance
  • Transplant Education
  • Pre-Transplant Strategy
